Riverside Golf Club is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Memphis, Tennessee, just 5 miles from downtown
Riverside Golf Club first opened for play in 1913. Originally an eighteen hole golf course, it was the first public golf course of its size in Memphis. The mighty Mississippi River reclaimed part of the original park and golf course. Today Riverside is a beautiful 9-hole, par-35 course.
This course uses the natural terrain to its advantage. The narrow fairways are tree lined, and the average-sized greens are somewhat sloped. The Mississippi River comes into play on the course.
The course is quite short.. #2 is the only par 5 and measures 461 yards. The par 4's measure between 270 and 344 yards. Your greens in regulation numbers will go up at Riverside. On the other hand, the 230-yard par 3's are not short.
This is one of eight municipal courses in the local area. The others are Crockett, Overton, Galloway, Audubon, Pine Hill, Fox Meadows and McKellar.
Par for this 9-hole golf course is 35. From the back tees, the course plays to 2,741 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,611 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 461 yards. The shortest holes on the course are # 3 and 5, these par-3's play to 230 yards from the back tees.
